February 5, 2009 was the Carrollwood Day School's Author Conference. We are excited to have been invited to attend this event and we had a great time! We met a lot of students and were thrilled with their creativity. We did an exercise with them in producing fantasy characters, their histories and ideas for stories for these characters. The results were amazing - these kids have incredible imaginations! Anyone still wanting to order the book can do so through this website. Mention the conference and you will receive your choice of a silver dragon pendant or a silver dragon bookmark from the dragon's hoard.
Hi! Kylie here - The Destineers' Journal of Fantasy Nations is composed of things learned in our Mythical Beings class taught by Professor Noah Washington [as you know from his previous posts, he is a goblin], research in our library and Cybrarie [thanks Mrs. Prendergild!], as well as personal observations and interactions from our encounters with a fair number of these nations through our adventures. I have arranged it in an encyclopedic format, but it is much less formal than that - more like a "field guide" to these fantastical beings. We hope you enjoy it. The guide is full of not only the fantasy characters you may already be familiar with - dwarves, elves, pixies and such, but facts about different dragon breeds (which ones are always aggeressive as opposed to the ones who are friendly), and some of the lesser known beings. It is currently available through the Cybrarie Bookstore [http://Cybrarie.com look for the bookstore room], NASharpe.com [http://NASharpe.com] and soon available on Amazon.com and bookstores everywhere
